Guild Wars Rules

  1. Whilst in TIG, you are a representative of us and will act accordingly; you will not be rude, impolite, crude, insult or swear at any member in the alliance or outside of, whether it be in whisper, team or public chat. We have members of all ages, race, nationality, beliefs and personal preferences therefore there is to be no discrediting another's opinion or discussing religion, politics or anything else that could lead to people becoming offended.

  2. Trading is not encouraged in Alliance Chat so please use the trade forum area on the TIG forum or wait for alliance market days held in the guild halls. Discounts to alliance members are encouraged, and making a profit from members unaware of the current value is frowned upon and gross overcharging can be grounds for disciplinary action. If you need/have an item then you are free to request/offer them once but do not spam, beg or use 'WTS' and 'WTB' in alliance chat. Any members found to be given an item for their personal use and then caught selling them will be reprimanded.

  3. Do not beg, donate or lend gold to any members of the alliance regardless of who they are.

  4. Any member not on-line for a period of time may be kicked from their guild, this length of time varies per guild so check with your guild leader before going away. Exceptions to this are granted at the leaders discretion. If you find you are kicked please whisper an officer or leader to be reinvited.

  5. You will not impersonate another member to make others believe you are that member by use of a character name or otherwise.

  6. Questioning any officer, leader or ambassador when they are enforcing alliance rules is considered as questioning the rules themselves and hence should not be done without valid reasons and proper argumentation and never with the intention of aggravating anyone. Questions should not be placed in alliance chat and should not be used as a defence in alliance chat in response to a reprimand. They should either be placed on the forum or messaged in private to your guild leader or an ambassador. If you feel you are being reprimanded unfairly then screen-shot the entire conversation and send the screens to an ambassador for assessment.

  7. Any members of the alliance found to be in-breach of ArenaNet rules will be kicked and reported to ArenaNet.

The alliance reserves the right to remove any person from the alliance at any time.

General Etiquette And Guidelines Ingame
  • If you feel there is a problem or issue do not bring it up in alliance chat, contact your guild leader or one of your guild's officers to try and resolve it. If there is not an officer or your leader on that time, you should contact or ask for a leader of officer in alliance chat. Officers and leaders are to be trusted to have both authority and knowledge, and thus should be treated with respect.

  • When possible help each other with quests as it may be you needing help another time. If you need help and no-one is available in your guild, ask in alliance chat giving full details about the help that you need, but do not spam it. However try the quest/mission first to ensure you need help, as you may be preventing someone who does need help for a job which they cannot do themselves from receiving it.

  • The use of capitals in chat is classed as shouting, and so we would prefer that you avoid the use of capitals in alliance, team and guild chat without good reason.

  • You have the right to go to any guild in the alliance, however you will not hop around the guilds as this is a waste of resources.

Ventrilo Rules

  1. Your Ventrilo name should make it easy to identify you as a member ingame by setting it to your main character name. This name will then be registered to you by an Admin and your guilds tag will be automatically put at the start of your name. Your phonetic name must not say anything offensive or that is annoying for other users.

  2. You must assign a push to talk key on set-up of your Ventrilo account.

  3. You may not use or link to any sexually explicit, harmful, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful or racially or ethnically offensive language or content in any channel or chat. You will also not spam or flood ventrilo in any way and may only use one copy of ventrilo per person.

  4. You may not impersonate anybody else on Ventrilo by using their account or a name similar, please remain on the account that has been registered for you.

  5. Please be considerate to other users of Ventrilo by not playing music, screaming and constantly switching rooms or leaving and joining the server deliberately.

  6. Please refrain from entering the Faction, Mission, Elite Mission, or Heroes Ascent when there is already a group in there, unless entering with the team themselves or if invited by the group.

  7. The Ventrilo complaint system should be used to alert moderators to any issues that may occur such as the breach on one of these rules. However, you will not use the complaint system to submit false reports.

  8. If you have been granted special privileges you will not abuse them, or they will be revoked.

  9. You will not give our ventrilo details to anyone outside of the alliance to use.

Failure to comply with these rules could result in the termination of your Ventrilo account and being kicked from the alliance.

Forum Rules

Forum Guidelines
We have implemented the following guide for using our community forums. This guide is designed to strike a balance between the main goal of our forums, for a healthy discussion of various topics related to TIG and GW, and keeping the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere of our community.

  • We require all posts in reply to a thread to be positive, constructive, and on topic. We may delete individual posts that could ruin a good topic thread.

  • We reserve the right to remove any topics we deem inappropriate or disruptive to our community. Please not that, from time to time, topics may be removed for being inappropriate even though your individual post in that topic may have been perfectly fine. Please do not feel this reflects badly on you.

  • Having fun is good, we like fun. There are several general forums for non-TIG and GW related topics. Please keep it positive and polite. We do not censor opinions or ideas on our forums but we do take action against posts and/or topics that could cause unrest in the community beyond a civil and polite disagreement.

  • You may not use profanity, it is unprofessional and offensive and will not be tolerated. We have word filters in place for the most vulgar terms. Circumventing those word filters will result in punitive action.

  • You may not advertise or promote other guilds which may compete with TIG.

  • Remember to post in the correct forum. Take your time to look at other topics and see where your topic should go. If your topic is placed in the wrong forum, it will be moved by a moderator.

  • We reserve the right to ban any member who violates our guidelines or disrupts our community. We will be fair and provide warning in most cases.

  • If you have an issue concerning our services, policies, or staff please use a personal contact method such as a private message or email to a staff member. All moderators, administrators, and support staff are highlighted in the active members list. We take serious complaints to heart and will do our best to address them.
