As you may have heard, Guild Wars 2 had a tremendous showing at G-Star, Korea’s #1 game tradeshow last week.
We had the largest booth so far for Guild Wars 2, with over 60 demo stations. Each day of the show all of our demo stations were occupied within 120 seconds flat, and we had hours that were four times the length of the huge booth.
The turnout for our PvP matches was insane – gamers packed the booth to watch QA’s Karl McLain’s team take on Systems Design Lead Izzy Cartwright’s team battle each other and take on Korean PvP teams. Hands down, the largest crowd appeared for the impromptu match between players from the Last Pride and War Machine guilds and our joint ArenaNet/NCSoft team.
Korean media was impressed with GW2 as well. “The story of Guild Wars 2 is absolutely immersive,” said GameShot. “And of course, the sound and graphics of the game is simply great.” Game Chosun said, “The event system is quite innovative compared to quest system MMORPGs.”
It just goes to show that quality design, beautiful graphics, and innovative gameplay are truly world-class.
Thank you to all our Korean fans, old and new, for an awesome show!
